So, last Sunday morning, I sat down and started blogging about the Super Moon, then I got distracted looking for quilt pictures and then I started quilting and I didn’t quit all week.  I should inject that I was able to meet up with the girls on Thursday night…. last summer we started going for ice cream on Thursday nights and through the winter we have continued our gatherings and it has become dinner and/or dessert night.  Tuesday night I was able to get out for dinner (again, as Frank says) with a girlfriend that I haven’t seen for such a long time it seems…. there’s always a ton to chat about and catch up on!  Her daughter’s getting married this summer too so there was way more than usual to talk about.

I am off to Calgary this week(end) to tie up some more wedding details.  We are less than a month away from THE day… June 9th is coming up VERY quickly.  So Cathie has some plans for the shop…. so stop in to see her Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  And don’t forget, Thursday May 24th is the start of our Block of the Month!  You can still sign up – we’ll demo the first two blocks next week.  It’s not a difficult quilt but a great one to build your piecing skills….. perfect for moi!

We had our final gathering of Moda Club and we marvelled at this tecnique for half square triangles.  So simple and quick, you could whip up a quilt in no time  – watch this video and get piecing!

Here’s some quilts that you haven’t seen yet from the last few months.  This is Joy H’s quilt.  It is all handpieced and I don’t think there is a star on the quilt that’s the same fabric on the whole thing!

Here is another Biker Chick quilt.  One of the group of girls that ride turned 60 and the others got together to make her this quilt.  Great idea for a special birthday and they do amazing blocks.

This a little baby quilt I did up for my friend Liane, she became a Grandma on April 21 to a little girl named Danae who is gorgeous I might add…… of course she is.

Here is Linda’s Sunshine After the Rain Quilt.  She picked up a kit with some Stephanie Brandenburg fabrics and Silk in it.  Someone had a wonderful idea…. and Linda has added her bling with crystal raindrops and some beading – we’ll all get to see that at the Castlegar Quilt Show in October (you can click on the pictures to make them bigger)

Here is Ruth’s Mystery quilt.  Very simple concept and it sure is effective!  Four patches and half square triangles…. see you could use the video!
