And now for some Quilts

Ok, so it’s Monday today…. and … starting NEXT MONDAY – We’ll be OPEN on MONDAYS!  So for July and August, we’ll be here for sure Monday through Saturday  11 – 5!  How does that sound?  and on Wednesday afternoons, we are pleased to host Gazebo quilting.  Starting this week and through July and August, we’ll have a little gathering in the Gazebo with coffee and iced tea just to get together and do some hand work. Starting at 1 pm on Wednesdays, everyone is welcome to join us.

We have lots of quilts to catch up on, so here is Brenda’s “Evening at Home”  beautiful colour combination and interesting pattern

This is Mona’s TShirt quilt, she made it out of her husband’s shirts from events and trips, what a great way to preserve the memories.

This is Donna’s Argyle quilt, her daughter teaches Highland Dance, and it’s for her.  There is wool couched onto the diamonds to give it some more texture.

This is Pat’s table topper.  It is a great design, even the plaids were matched up…. nice colours.

The Members of our Guild, the Castlegar Quilters Guild, have put together this beautiful raffle quilt.  It is an original design by Wendy Burgess, she even drew out all of the applique blocks.  Each member of the guild did a little bit, some did lots….. we all donated 2 1/2″ blocks for the borders and I think that they are all different, and there’s lots of them!  I have tickets and hope to have the quilt hung up in the shop too.  Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5 and the proceeds are going to the Community Harvest Food Bank.

  1. Nice quilts, Debra, your customers do amazing work! Great quilting, too! Love the echoing in the raffle quilt! Save me a ticket, will ya?

  2. Debra, yes please, add me to your email.

Also, just found on Sept. 9/10 blog about ‘the bear’ quilt. You did a fantastic work of art quilting for me. The young couple from Germany loved their “Oh Canada” wedding gift quilt . After the binding was put on, end of July, I had about 4 weeks to show it off and admire it. Truly a beautiful quilt and thank you so much for your excellent and awesome touches to the quilting. Barb J.

  3. I’m so glad they like their quilt, of course they did – you made it! and it was Spectacular!
