What’s in Store….

I have finally taken pictures of The Quiltworx.  You can see that I have pretty good selection of fabrics in a limited amount of space…..

I tried to get the pics to line up so that it would be like looking at the wall but it just won’t cooperate for me!  So here’s what I got –img_05101

This is the top shelf,  there are some fat quarters that came to us as a bundle – no worries, they all match each other.  Then the Layer Cakes from Moda.  These are 10 inch squares, in a slice of 40 squares, each a different fabric from the line.  So, you could sew the squares together as they are, cut them into 5 inch charms or use the Layer Cake Recipe book and follow a “recipe” to make a quilt.  I also have some of my own ideas toimg_04981use them to make some interesting quilts. Then we have some Hoffman Bali Rolls.  These are a roll of handpainted Bali fabrics.  Each roll has 2 each of 20 different fabrics that are pre-cut into 7inch squares.  I took two rolls and just sewed them together, added a 7″(cut) border and ended up with a twin size quilt, all on a Sunday afternoon.  Then there are 3 great kits for quilts, Fig and Plum by Moda(Fig Tree Designs), Girls Best Friend – a beautiful Batik quilt by Laundry Basket Designs, also from Moda.  The third is another Batik kit called Sonata by Timeless Treasures.  It ranges from soft pastels to some brighter batiks, makes up quickly with their pattern and looks really nice.  I have made one – and it’s quilted, so here it is.

Here is the second shelf, all newer fabrics –

And here is the bottom shelf.  Most of these fabrics are just beautiful in their own right.  And yes, if you look close enough, you do see sock monkeys.  They are on flannel and make a great cozy back or front for a baby quilt – or for jammies for Sarah who picked them out!
